Living, working and conducting ethnographic research in central Australia for more than two decades, I continue to examine and write about how people from a great diversity of ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds come to belong and make sense of themselves, a variety of others and the physical environment as they move about, interact and get things done in their day-to-day lives in this harsh, age-old, spectacular desert region.
